Highway to the Brussels bootcamp!


After two exciting weeks of teamwork, mentoring, prototyping, pitching and creative thinking, the best three teams of each academy have been selected to enter the ultimate challenge arena, the Brussels Bootcamp organised by e-unlimited.
Out of over 700 applications and 150 shortlisted participants, the teams carrying the most promising business ideas have earned their chance to defend their budding stratups to a VCs' panel.

Video Games Academy, Katowice, Poland


1. Lexia


The objective is to design a game to help millions of kids around the world having Dyslexia, an incurable neurological disorder that causes difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, listening and have higher suicidal tendency than average. Unlike the conventional games and apps in market for Dyslexia, our game will help those kids to learn in a joyful and entertaining environment, improve their Dyslexia condition and help them to have a normal life faster than the traditional medical care system. The game also aims to socialize the kids by connecting their friends and family while they are enjoying a real adventure game with different challenges. The feedback and statistical data acquired from the game will be used for medical researches and to improve the games itself.

D.N.A is a mobile gaming startup team led by a serial entrepreneur with a seasoned developer and a talented designer. They launch their inaugural game,“SURVIVOR”, a free to play survival game being developed for Android first that uses augmented reality. The game combines 3 unique game modes, introducing different ways to engage our players therefore enhancing their gaming experience. Augmented reality in particular is a feature that intuitively works better than VR with existing mobile platforms. The game evlolves around 3 game modes. Forge mode allows you to create the ultimate shelter, aided by a solar powered AI robot which explains the science. Fight is when you compete to defeat ever more challenging mutated animals, as without their meat players cannot survive. Find is where you search augmented reality using geolocation to collect useful items like weapons or upgrades to change them, alongside trading food for better resources with non-playable characters. When avatars die, progress is saved, but 25% of inventory items are lost and the daily bonus streak restarts.

3. Notio


Our game is for hardcore gamer. As hack'n'slash genre, its main features consist of a combat ystem, combat controls, pseudo-random enemy generation, a level map, and an amor repair system. Combat controls are efficient, simple and easy to grasp, and well suited for mobile platforms. While in fight every turn player chooses one of two randomly picked abilities.

Simulation, AR & VR, Almeria, Spain


1. Dresy


Dresy will provide clothing retailer businesses with a new and exciting way to connect with customers by enabling them to quickly scan a QR code, for a specific clothing item, then view the 3D model of that item in 360˚ on an avatar of themselves. After the users save the 3D model of a clothes they like, they can view that item anytime and combine it with any other saved wears. This approach will give our partners a competitive advantage because our application will give their products that extra factor which makes them innovative and different. All this using augmented reality technology, the next step in the evolution of e-commerce and a whole new way of interacting and experiencing clothes and accessories.

2. RelieVe


Re-LiVe is a mobile app that aims to stimulate donations by enabling users to experience life inside a refugee camp and the needs of the people living there, with the use of immersive technologies. To do so, our app will function as an experience provider and a fundraising tool for large scale and local Non Profit Organizations. In more detail, we allow users to virtually experience life inside a refugee camp in three minutes, undestand the needs of refugees living there and empathize with them, through virtual reality

3. VRehab


We as VRehab want to provide our customers, mainly the rehabilitation centers in the Netherlands with a virtual reality rehabilitation package, which consists of an HTC vive and a digital platform. Our customers buy our product directly from us and because of the simplicity of our product we do not need further instructions, the manual explains everything clearly. The main costs of our business will be the salaries and the rent for our working space. The income will be the sales of packages and we will sell them in an affordable price for our clients but at the same time in a price that will give us the possibility to gain our investment back in two years. Mainly, because we will try to keep the operational cost as low as possible until the moment that our company is going to become profitable.

Digital Transportation Academy, Thessaloniki, Greece


1. GETmeHome

The problem we are solving is the drunk driving epidemic around the world and particular in small to mid-size cities that don’t provide public transit, uber pool, and residence is not walking distance to bars. Our app platform connects the users who seek cheaper drink specials and cheaper taxi rides with alcohol enterprises that need to get their word out about their product/service or improve their corporate social responsibility image.
The users get 3 main values out of the deal. First they receive 6 screenshots of coupons once a day that inform them where they can go tonight/this weekend to get discounted drinks. Two, they actually receive money in the form of taxi credits for looking at these ads each day. Three, we provide a technical means for matching friends/strangers leaving at the same time, from roughly the same location and heading in roughly the same direction.

ADME is an online advertisement platform for public means of transportation. The concept focuses on creating a platform similar to Google AdWords. By starting in taxis and focusing on expanding the application of the model into other means of transportation, ADME connects the advertised businesses and the taxi companies with an online platform which will allow the companies to be advertised in the tablets that taxis already have installed. With the ADME online platform, a company can log in, choose the location which it wants to target based on the geo-located feature of the product or adapt the exposure based on specific dates and time. At the same time, the taxi driver will not be distracted at any point because ADME will pop-up in the tablet of the taxi in order to give the ability to the taxi driver to use the other applications on it like fare calculator and maps.

3. SmartGarbage

Our purpose is optimizing garbage collecting system and making it more efficient. Current existing solutions adopted by smart cities are too expensive to be applied in medium development countries. We provide a cheap and simplified solution that uses cheap sensors to measure different parameters about garbage containers. Our main measurement is the fill rate of garbage containers. The obtained data is then used to optimize the garbage collecting route. In addition, we involve direct users (i.e. citizens) in our service, by making them aware of the overflowing garbage problem and motivating them to adopt a more eco-friendly behavior.
